Noida. In the last leg of the Regional round of NTPC Electron Quiz 2023, over 77 teams participated in the event held at Power Management Institute (PMI) in Noida today.

In this closely fought competition, team comprising Muhammad Mahatab & Ankita Shandilya of Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University clinched the first prize while Shashank Tyagi & Shushant Adlakha of the same institute stood second. Rajbul Awal & Mohammad Faheem TP of Jamia Millia Islamia secured the third position.

All the three teams shall be participating in the National Semi-Final & Final scheduled to be held on 6th and 7th Dec 2023 at PMI campus in Noida.

Gracing the occasion, Shri Sital Kumar, Executive Director (UPL & HR) said that quizzing gives students a break from the traditional classroom learning and has huge academic benefits as it helps gain knowledge and provides opportunities to excel beyond academics. Since questions are based out-of-syllabus and require critical thinking and extensive research, students get into the habit of innovative learning. It also gives students an opportunity to hone their teamwork skills.

Launched in 2004, this annual quizzing carnival is conducted in six city centres, such as Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Patna and Noida where the brightest quizzing minds of some of the best & premier engineering & management institutes battle it out in this competition.

An overwhelming response has been received this year with participation of around 700 teams across all regions. Huge participation by the quizzers itself shows the enthusiasm that they have in taking part in this flagship quiz programme conducted by NTPC.

Quizzing culture runs deep into NTPC’s DNA. We take immense pride in providing platforms like Medha Pratiyogita for our employees and employee’s families and Electron Quiz for bright young quizzers of premier Engineering & Management institutes, where aspiring minds engage in stimulating challenges, aligning with our mission to empower and encourage the leaders of tomorrow. These competitions serve as a testament to our dedication to fostering excellence.
